What We Collect
When you join our waitlist or enroll in a program, we collect your name, email address, and any payment information needed to process your tuition. Payment details are handled securely by Stripe and are never stored on our servers.
How We Use It
Your information is used solely to communicate about studio openings, confirm enrollment, and process payments. We will never sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Your Rights
You may request a copy of your data or ask us to delete it at any time by emailing us directly. We will respond within 30 days.
Scheduling & Attendance
Weekly Lessons
Lessons are scheduled at a fixed time each week. Attending punctually ensures students make the most of their reserved time — a habit that carries over beautifully into musical performance.
Make-Up Policy
Due to the nature of studio scheduling, make-up lessons are not provided for student absences. Trading lesson times with another student is perfectly welcome, and students may be fit into an open slot if a cancellation creates availability.
Studio Closures
The studio follows the Clark County School District calendar for holidays and scheduled breaks. Advance notice is always given for any closures, so families can plan accordingly.
Student Expectations
Practice
Regular practice is the heartbeat of musical progress. Beginners do well with 15 minutes twice a day, while more experienced students should work toward an hour daily — two 30-minute sessions is a great approach. The more consistently students practice, the more rewarding each lesson becomes.
Materials
Students should arrive with their music books and any other required materials. A sturdy tote bag and a composition notebook — where lesson assignments are written — are both essential. One of the best ways parents can support their student is making sure everything is packed and ready.
Behavior
Students are expected to bring a respectful and positive attitude to every lesson. This studio is a home, and we ask everyone in it to treat it that way. Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated — kindness and encouragement are the culture here.
Parent Involvement
At-Home Support
Parents play a huge role in a student's success. Encouraging a consistent practice routine and ensuring your child has access to a suitable instrument at home makes a meaningful difference — a quality learning environment outside the studio matters just as much as the lesson itself.
Communication
Any questions about a student's progress, scheduling, or studio policies are always welcome. Please bring them directly to Cynthia — open communication is how we keep the relationship healthy and productive for everyone.
Observation
Parents are warmly welcome to observe lessons from time to time. We simply ask that you let the lesson flow uninterrupted — a gentle, focused environment helps students stay present and get the most from their time at the bench.
Health & Safety
Illness
If a student is feeling unwell, please keep them home. We ask that you notify Cynthia as soon as possible so the time can be reallocated. Protecting everyone's health — students, families, and instructor alike — is a shared responsibility.
Hygiene
Students should wash their hands before sitting down at the piano. The studio keys are regularly wiped with hydrogen peroxide on a microfiber cloth — the care method recommended by Steinway — and we appreciate students doing the same at home.
Instructor Cancellations
In the rare event that Cynthia needs to cancel a lesson, a make-up session will be scheduled or a credit applied to the following month's tuition. Your reserved time is valued and will always be honored in one form or another.
Enrollment & Withdrawals
Starting Lessons
Enrollment begins with a short introductory conversation so we can understand your goals and find the right fit. Spots are offered in the order of the waitlist.
Giving Notice
If you need to leave the program, please give one month's notice. This allows Cynthia to offer your spot to the next family on the waitlist and bring your current curriculum to a thoughtful close.
Dismissal
Cynthia reserves the right to end enrollment when a student consistently does not practice, exhibits disruptive behavior, or does not adhere to studio policies. This is always a last resort — concerns will be raised directly before any such decision is made.
Questions? Just Ask.
Policies are meant to create clarity, not distance. If anything here raises a question, please reach out — we'd love to talk it through.
